The situation in Berchidda is developing rapidly.

Heat pumps

Ten heat pump installations were completed at the end of October. The municipality is currently holding a tender for the installation of their attached monitoring systems – the electric consumption data of all ten dwellings can be transmitted and will be shared to project partners also working on this analysis.

A vehicle to grid charging point has been installed within the scope of the project. V2G, or bidirectional charging points, are rare because their steep price point [about 10x as much as a normal EV plug] and allow for the vehicle to inject power into the grid, making them into portable batteries.

Citizen engagement meetings

The last citizen engagement project meeting took place in the summer – PV will be acquired and installed in private dwellings before the energy community officialises; it is set to be named Limbara, after Mount Limbara in northeastern Sardinia.
